President's Message

LISA NISHIYA, PRESIDENT

Aloha!  The Rotary Club of Kahala Sunrise, aka RoCKS, is an active group of diverse individuals of all ages and backgrounds who come together for fun, fellowship and to give back to our community. We love trying new things and are an energetic team with something for everyone.

Our focus is primarily Youth, Education, and Literacy and we put on a variety of projects to help East Honolulu Elementary and Intermediate Schools such as Palolo Elementary, Ali’iolani Elementary, Aina Haina Elementary, King Liholiho Elementary School, Jared Middle School and Niu Valley Middle School.  We donate reading books, student dictionaries, and school supplies to the students who need help the most in our immediate communities.

We also work on projects that support the elderly, the environment, and the homeless.  We also support  the Alzheimer’s Association of Hawai’i through a variety of activities.  We’ve also helped our ‘aina through clean-ups of Hamakua Marsh and the Waikalua Loko ‘Ia Fishpond. And we’ve served meals and held clothing and food drives for organizations such as the River of Life Mission and the Salvation Army. When we aren’t doing a project, you can find us having a great time at our holiday socials, dinner fundraisers or our signature Murder Mystery dinner.

Please join us for meetings at 7:30am every 2nd and 4th Wednesday or join us for our community service projects.  We are a fun and friendly group, so come down to meet us!

Please follow us on Facebook at Rotary Club of Kahala Sunrise and on Instagram @rotarykahala.
