Volunteer at the longest running local parade in the state of Hawaii. The Kaimuki Christmas Parade, 76 years strong, will once again present a community based parade in the Kaimuki neighborhood. 6 ROCK volunteers (18 yr and older) are needed to guide parade marchers and vehicles at the very end of the parade at the intersection of Waialae Avenue and Koko Head Avenue (near the new Goodwill Store/Civil Beat building). A Honolulu Police Department officer will be there along with our ROCK volunteers to point the parade participants to "go makai" on Koko Head Avenue and marchers to get on to the sidewalk because Koko Head Avenue is open to traffic/vehicles. In addition, a volunteer is needed to tell the parade vehicles (cars and trolleys to drop off passengers by Jose's Mexican Restaurant, not at the Koko Head corner). Volunteers will be provided with a safety vest and flashlight wands. Note on parking - for your own vehicle, parking will be limited due to the number of participants and viewers of the parade. Try the municipal lots, street parking or Uber/Lift in. |
