05 Sep 2026 Out of the Darkness Oahu Walk 2026 Sep 05, 2026 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM The Rotary Club of Kahala Sunrise supports our community effort in recognizing mental health needs of residents. Established in 1987, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death. The local Oahu Walk, brings awareness, support and healing to families, friends, colleagues and many others. The Walks are an opportunity to find a supportive community of people who get it, to know you're not alone, and to make a difference together. Walks are between 1 to 3 miles are non-competitive. The route and additional information specific to the O'ahu Walk will be added closer to Walk day. Our program includes an opening ceremony, activities of hope and healing, resource tables, and complimentary honor beads for every participant. 12 Sep 2026 Kaimuki Tree Well - Adopt a Tree Well - Sept 12 Sep 12, 2026 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM RoCKs service to our local community. The trees and plants add to the ambiance of historic Kaimuki town. While you are there, check out the signs on the trees which say "Adopted by the Rotary Club of Kahala Sunrise." Event Details: This is a clean-up by members(and friends) of our tree well and along Waialae Avenue, trash pick-up and weed removal Activity: Light gardening of the tree wells and surrounding area. To Wear: Rotary shirt and/or comfortable clothes for gardening To Bring: Work gloves. Safety vests will be provided Parking: on-street or municipal lot. Meeting Location: In front of Cow Cow Tea, 3620 Waialae Avenue, near Waialae Avenue and Koko Head Avenue, mauka side.

Please join 2000 other walkers from over 100 teams to honor those who have passed away from Alzheimer's disease and to the 31,000 people in Hawaii with Alzheimers, along with 65,000 caregivers.
